Akintunde Warnock discovered his passion for comedy as a student at Ramah Junior Academy in Savannah, Georgia. As a child, he faced bullying due to his weight, but found joy and connection by making his classmates laugh through the clever mockery of his tormentors.
Before pursuing comedy full-time, Akintunde worked as a barber, but in 1995, he committed himself to stand-up comedy and quickly became a rising star. In the late '90s, he graced the stage at The Laff House Comedy Club, captivating audiences with his comedic talent. His career blossomed as he toured across the United States, appearing on BET's Comicview and the Turner South series That Comedy Show. Additionally, Akintunde contributed as a writer for television shows like It's Showtime at the Apollo and comedians such as Monique and Chris Tucker.
In 1999, Akintunde underwent a transformative spiritual journey and became a Christian. His newfound faith inspired him to adapt Atlanta Bishop Eddie Long's book, I Don't Want Delilah, I Need You, into a movie screenplay.
Now, Akintunde returns to The Laff House Atlantic City Comedy Club for a special Mother's Day event, titled Welcome to the Fellowship: A Christian Standup Comedy Show. This show promises an evening of laughter and faith-filled entertainment.
